A Child's eyes

Well... an entry after a long time mostly due to the pressures of writing other papers and reading many a book here. Today, though, while sitting in Church, there was a moment of inspiration to write here. I was sitting next to this little six year old girl and she was coloring all through the service. she had in her hand a paper that was given to the kids with a few puzzles and mazes and one picture to b colored. I watched as she colored in the picture. It was one of Jesus teaching a few people around Him. By the end of her coloring experience Jesus has orange hair and was wearing a bright blue gown while the sun had gone red with purple clouds. I watched as she moved on to attempt the maze. She spent a few minutes trying to get the bunny to the carrot... it didn't seem to work. So the little genius came up with a better idea. She colored in the maze. The other kids found their way through the maze, but their papers lacked half the color as this little one's.

As I kept laughing inside at how she got all the colors wrong and totally misunderstood the concept of the maze. But as I laughed i learned a valuable lesson. Child-like faith is like that. It is not limited by what the world says "ought to be"... it sees orange hair and purple clouds and it makes perfect sense. And when we come up against a maze and have nowhere to go, stop whining take a different approach and you land up with a whole lot of color and life. Child-like faith... simple, innocent, imaginative... inspiring. Lord let me at times look at the complications of life through the simple eyes of a child.
